This film shows little known facets of Frédéric Chopin. At George Sand’s castle Nohant, artists and experts rehearse and discuss selected compositions. Chopin’s experiences as a passionate opera-fan, an admirer of the female voice and an advocate of Bel Canto, are reflected in the flow, trills and cadences of his music. Katerina Hebelkova’s voice realises their songful potential. Great Bel Canto artist Vesselina Kasarova brings the sources of Chopin's inspiration to life. Drawing on her own professional experience she highlights Chopin’s influence on opera as a whole.
